Question 2

How do I get from Asturias Airport (OVD) to central Oviedo?

Accepted Answer

Take the ALSA bus (Line A-1) from Asturias Airport to Oviedo city center - it runs every 30-60 minutes and takes 40 minutes. A one-way ticket costs €3.50. Taxis are available but cost around €60. The bus stop is located outside Terminal 1.

Question 3

Is the Asturias Pass worth it for visiting museums and attractions in Oviedo?

Accepted Answer

Yes - the Asturias Pass offers free entry to major sites like the Cathedral of San Salvador, Campo de San Francisco, and local museums, plus public transport access. At €32 for 72 hours, it pays for itself after 2-3 visits and simplifies logistics for travelers exploring Oviedo and nearby Gijón.

Question 4

What local customs should I be aware of when visiting Oviedo?

Accepted Answer

Oviedo locals value politeness - greet with “buenos días/tardes,” and say “por favor” and “gracias.” Tapas with cider is a cultural staple - don’t miss a sidrería experience. Cider is poured from height (“escanciar”) to aerate it; it’s customary to leave a small amount in the glass when refilling.
