Wildflowers bloom in the desert, crowds are manageable, and hiking conditions are ideal. This is an excellent time for visiting Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and lower-elevation trails around Lake Tahoe.

 

  • Summer (June to August): Temperatures soar, especially in southern Nevada. Las Vegas regularly sees highs of 100-110°F, while northern areas like Reno experience 85-95°F. Lake Tahoe offers relief with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Summer is peak season for lake activities, but expect crowds and higher prices. Airports: Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas is the largest and most convenient entry point, with direct flights from cities across the US and internationally.
