The National Civil Rights Museum opened in 1991 and re-opened in 2014 after a $27.5 million renovation. The complex includes the Lorraine Motel Buildings as well as the Young & Morrow and Boarding House buildings across Mulberry Street. It has 260 artifacts, 40-plus films, oral histories, interactive media and external listening posts covering five centuries of history.
