As a solo traveler, I felt very safe and well taken care of. The group was small and friendly. The Huanglong scenic area is spectacular, but the altitude is high — take it slow. The Bailong Elevator in Zhangjiajie saved us hours of hiking. The only small drawback is that some hotel breakfasts were very basic (rice porridge and bread). Still, a wonderful and well-paced tour.
The value for money is incredible given how much is included: flights, bullet trains, most meals, and top-tier hotels. The Great Wall at Mutianyu was less crowded than I feared, and the cable car up was a bonus. Our group bonded well, and the guide even arranged a birthday cake for one member. A memorable trip.
This tour packs in so much without being overly exhausting. Learning Tai Chi from a master at Wudang Mountain was a unique cultural experience I didn't expect. Seeing the pandas in Chengdu and then the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an back-to-back was a history lover's dream. The glass skywalk on Tianmen Mountain was terrifying but thrilling. I wish we had one more evening free in Shanghai, but overall an excellent itinerary.
High-speed trains between Chengdu, Huanglong, and Jiuzhaigou were so convenient and comfortable. Smooth transfers made our multi-day journey easy and stress-free.
