Jasper National Park was formed in 1907 and named for trading post merchant Jasper Hawes. It is visited by nearly two million people per year. Points of interest are Columbia Icefield, Mount Edith Cavell, Medicine Lake, Maligne Lake, Pyramid Mountain, Athabasca Falls and the Jasper Tramway.
