Construction on this magnificent structure began in 1900, consisting of an 120-room mansion, a Power house to generate electricity for the island, and Alster Tower, all which can be toured. Meant to be a gift for George Boldt’s wife, construction stopped in 1904 after her sudden death and was left unfinished and in disarray until 1977 when it was purchased and restored.
