Best Columbia Icefield Tours & Trips

The largest continuous ice field in the Canadian Rocky Mountains spreads 150 square miles in the Alberta province from the national parks of Banff and Jasper. Columbia Icefield is 1,197 feet deep and is surrounded by many of the highest peaks of the Canadian Rockies. It was first noted in 1898 by explorer John Norman Collie and it lends its name to the Icefields Parkway. A miniature model of the Columbia Icefield and multimedia presentations on it can be found at Columbia Icefield Visitors' Centre in Jasper National Park.

Our tour guide The driver drove smoothly and we felt safe

Was on a Banff tour from 28 to 29 March 2024. Our tour guide, Michael, was most helpful and managed the tour very well. We also appreciated the seamless transition from English to Mandarin. We didn’t feel like we missed any information despite the bilingual narratives. He also patiently helped us put on the spikes to be able to walk on the snow. The driver, Joe, drove smoothly and we felt safe even it it was snowing a lot on our way to Calgary. We enjoyed the tour very much.
