The Canadian Pacific Railroad was built between 1881-85 connecting British Columbia and Eastern Canada. A commemorative sign marks the spot of the last spike.

Banff Town Stay | 4-Day Canadian Rockies Summer Tour from Vancouver·Banff, Columbia Icefield, Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Bow Falls

This was our first organized tour in Canada, and the structure made the trip easy to follow. I especially enjoyed the Columbia Icefield section, and Moraine Lake also lived up to the photographs. We checked the optional activities before departure, which helped us decide how to use each stop. My father walks more slowly, and he appreciated knowing the meeting times in advance. One stop felt a little short, though the overall route was still worth it. I would book a similar route again, especially with family or friends.

I didn't expect much from the icefield stop, but riding the snowmobile on actual glacier ruins was incredible. Bow Lake is also severely underrated – we stopped briefly but I could've stayed an hour. The Banff Gondola is worth the ticket just for the 360 shot of the town and mountains.
