Arches National Park's landscape has been forming and changing for millions of years. It was made a national park in 1971 being previously named a national monument in 1929. Points of interest are Delicate Arch, Wolfe Ranch, Courthouse Wash Panel, Elephant Butte, Courthouse Towers, The Organ, Fiery Furnace, Balanced Rock and Landscape Arch. The book "Desert Solitaire" was written by author Edward Abbey from his journals during his time as a park ranger.

7-Day Yellowstone & Southwest Parks Tour from San Francisco·Grand Teton, Arches, Canyonlands & Antelope Canyon

Arches National Park was a highlight I didn't expect. We stopped at Delicate Arch and Windows Section – the red rock formations are surreal. The 1-hour stop was just enough to hike to a viewpoint and take photos. I wish we had more time to explore, but I understand the schedule constraints

Amazing National Parks

Amazing 7 day NP tour. Yellowstone with its wildlife and geysers, Grand Teton with its snow-capped mountains, Arches with its red-orange rock formations and arches, I could go on. Our guide, Perry, and bus driver, Clint, were a great team. Long drives between parks but great scenery. Basic hotels but comfortable.

7-Day Southwest Highlights Camping Tour from Las Vgeas: Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands, Grand Canyon and Monument Valley [Max 13 Small Group]

As a solo traveler, I liked that the group was small (11 people). Everyone took turns washing dishes after dinner. The guide, Sarah, was a geology student. She explained how the hoodoos at Bryce formed. The hike into the Bryce Amphitheater was steep but she gave us trekking poles for free. The only hiccup was the van's check engine light came on in Moab. The guide got it fixed in 2 hours.
