Question 1

How do I buy tickets for the Taipei 101 Observatory Deck, and are timed entries required?

Accepted Answer

Tickets for the Taipei 101 Observatory Deck can be purchased online via official vendors like Klook or Attraction Tiger, or in person on the 5th floor of the building. Timed entry is required, with visitors assigned a specific 30-minute window. Booking online in advance is recommended to secure preferred times and skip queues. Same-day tickets may sell out during peak seasons.

Question 2

Is Taipei 101 still the tallest building in Taiwan, and what is the best time to visit for views?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Taipei 101 remains the tallest building in Taiwan at 508 meters. The best time to visit is late afternoon, around 3–5 PM, to see daylight views, sunset, and the city’s night lights. Clear days after rain offer optimal visibility. Avoid weekends and holidays if possible, as crowds peak in evenings.

Question 3

What’s the nearest MRT station to Taipei 101, and is there direct underground access?

Accepted Answer

The closest MRT station is Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station on the Tamsui-Xinyi Line (Red Line). Exit 3 leads directly to the building’s basement level, with elevator access to the mall and observatory. The walk from train to lobby takes under 3 minutes, making it the most convenient route from central Taipei.

Question 4

Are there any dress code or weather-related restrictions for visiting the Taipei 101 Observatory?

Accepted Answer

There is no formal dress code, but outdoor areas may be closed during typhoons or earthquakes for safety. The indoor observatory (89F) usually remains open. In winter, temperatures at high floors can be cooler—bring a light jacket. High winds may pause elevator operations temporarily; check the official website for real-time updates before visiting.
