The Mint Map / Location

The Mint is one of Australia’s oldest surviving public buildings, located in central Sydney. Originally built as part of the early colonial hospital complex in the early 19th century, it later became a branch of the Royal Mint where gold sovereigns were produced. Today, it operates as a museum and cultural site showcasing Australia’s colonial history, architecture, and early currency production, and visitors can explore its restored buildings, exhibits, and courtyard.
