Manasarovar Wetland Map / Location

Lake Manasarovar is located 35 kilometers east of Purang County in the Ali Prefecture of Tibet, south of Mount Kailash. Surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, it has been revered by Buddhists since ancient times as a sacred site and the “center of the world.” It is China’s second-largest natural freshwater lake in terms of water volume and the freshwater lake with the highest water clarity, and is considered one of the three “sacred lakes” of Tibet.
