Jardines del Castillo de Gibralfaro Map / Location

This 10th-century castle built by the Moorish Caliph of Cordoba looms over coastal Malaga and is famous for a three-month siege by Catholic monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella, which was the first conflict in history where gunpowder was used by both sides. Gibralfaro Castle was later rebuilt in the 14th century and today there is not much left in its interior that is original but its ramparts are well worth exploring, if for no other reason than the commanding views of Malaga.
