Cerro Torre Map / Location

Located in the Southern Patagonia Ice Field, Cerro Torre rests on the border of Chile and Argentina. Due to the accumulation of rime ice atop the mountain's peak and strong winds, reaching the true summit of the mountain is extremely difficult. The first undisputed accent of the mountain took place in 1974 by Daniele Chiappa, Mario Conti, Casimiro Ferrari, and Pino Negri.
