Arima Onsen is one of Japan's three oldest hot spring towns, with a history spanning over a thousand years. Favored for its excellent location, it has long been cherished by visitors. The streets are lined with historic inns, souvenir shops, and temples, with steam rising from the various springs, giving the town an old-world charm.
Strolling through Arima, you can immerse yourself in rich Japanese history while enjoying local cuisine. In addition to wandering the charming streets, experiencing the hot springs is a must. The town's most famous public baths include Kin no Yu (Gold Spring), Gin no Yu (Silver Spring), and several theme bathhouses offering a variety of spring experiences.
Recommended Day-Use Onsens:
【Taikou no Yu】– 292-2 Ikenojiri, Arima-cho, Kita-ku, Kobe. ~7,000 m² theme park with 3 types of hot springs: Kin-sen (gold), Gin-sen (silver), and Carbonated Spring.
【Kin no Yu (Gold Spring)】– 833 Arima-cho, Kobe. Rich in iron and sodium; turns reddish on contact with air.
【Gin no Yu (Silver Spring) 】– 1039-1 Arima-cho, Kobe. Colorless, tasteless carbonated spring, said to help with joint and muscle pain.
