Itinerary

The tour will commence at Termini Station where your dedicated local representative will provide you with train tickets and take care of all seating arrangements, and will let you relax and enjoy the ride. Throughout your one-hour trip to Naples, you will be treated to Italy’s spectacular scenery in the comfort of the air-conditioned, high-speed train. Once in Naples, you will be welcomed by your local expert, who will stay with you for the rest of the day - a personalized benefit not available with many other providers. After a short private coach transfer, you will reach the world-famous ruins where you will be introduced your official English-speaking Pompeii guide. From there, be enchanted and mystified on a 2-hour guided tour into the past. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pompeii is considered one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the world: A haunting yet magical place where time has been captured for eternity. Through interactive, entertaining and educational commentary, your official guide will help you to understand how the Romans lived during those fruitful (and ultimately catastrophic) times while exploring the well-preserved fossils and ruins that have been buried beneath volcanic ash for centuries. Thanks to our exclusive Pompeii partnership, you will have the unique opportunity of exploring recently-opened Domus (homes of the ancient city’s most influential people), still decorated with frescoes of animals, powerful gods and lush landscapes. After a short coffee break or local souvenir shopping, you will continue on to Sorrento - our next destination overlooking the sparkling blue waters of the Bay of Naples. On the way, your guide will entertain you with tales about the area and its significance during the Roman Empire as the preferred location for Emperors’ holidays. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the famous Sorrento coastal road with a handful of stops in preselected prime locations so you can take the best photos for lasting memories of your unbelievable experience. Once in Sorrento, your local expert guide will provide tips and suggestions to help you get the most out of your free time there. Have a delicious lunch and experience the local cuisine, do some shopping for hand-made sandals and artisan products in the city’s beautiful ancient alleys, or take time to relax among the picturesque panoramic gardens. Then rejoin the group as your guide escorts you to one of Sorrento’s oldest shops for a delectable taste of Southern Italy’s most renowned Limoncello liqueur. While there, you will learn how this famous lemony libation is produced as well as the local ingredients that make it so unique. Wrapping up the day in Pompeii and Sorrento, we will head back to Rome in the late afternoon. The coach will take you to the train station where your guide will once again take care of all seating arrangements to ensure you will have a comfortable, safe and relaxing trip back with enough golden hours remaining to enjoy an evening in Italy’s bustling capital. This tour ends around 7:10pm at Termini Station.
