Danube Bend Day Trip from Budapest

The Danube Bend - an excursion into Hungary’s history. This is an unforgettable tour along the "Blue Danube" with stops in Esztergom, Visegrad and Szentendre! We'll depart Budapest and head to Esztergom. After a short visit to Slovakia, we'll visit the largest cathedral of Hungary - Esztergom Basilica. This also is a burial place of famous cardinals of Hungary, like Primate Jozsef Mindszenty. Afterwards, we'll glance across the river and enjoy the view of Slovakia. Next, we'll travel to Visegrad. We'll walk along the 750 year-old formal Royal Residence (entrance fee not included), learn about life in the Middle Ages and enjoy the stunning panorama of the Danube Valley. On the way back to Budapest, we'll stop in the artist's village of Szentendre. It is a small Baroque city at the gate of the Danube Bend, at the meeting place of the Danube River and the Pilis mountains. We'll walk the narrow streets of the settlement built on medieval ruins. You'll have the option to visit the museums (for example the world-famous Margit Kovacs Ceramic Museum or the Confectionery Museum) or the shops of the village. During the summer (May to September), we'll return to Budapest on the Danube by boat. The tour ends at the pier/city center. During the tour, we'll stop for lunch (optional, not included).
