Exciting Kauai Tour to Waimea Canyon and Wailua River

Enjoy a day filled with the beauty, legends, and saga of the, "Garden Isle"! On this Kauai tour you will enjoy a day filled with lush beauty, legends and saga of Hawaii's "Garden Isle." Journey to the majestic Waimea Canyon, which Mark Twain called, "the Grand Canyon of the Pacific". Over 10 miles long, and almost 4,000 feet deep this marvel was formed by erosion and the catastrophic collapse of the volcano that created Kauai. Waimea Canyon State Park encompasses 1,866 acres and is a popular tourist attraction on the island. It provides a wilderness area with numerous hiking trails. Enjoy the drive along Route 580, which provides gorgeous views of the Wailua River. We'll make several 5-10 minute photostops along the route for a good leg stretch and restroom breaks. Onward and upward! We'll drive up to 3,400 feet to see the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" - Waimea Canyon! The canyon is 10 miles long, 1 mile wide, and more than 3,500-feet deep. It was carved thousands of years ago by rivers and floods that flowed from Mount Waialeale's summit. As we cruise along the southern coast, we'll drive through Poipu, a resort getaway for those in the know and home the Spouting Horn. This natural wonder occurs when water rushes under a lava shelf and bursts through a small opening at the surface, making an eerie hissing noise. Afterwards, head back toward the Wailua River for your Wailua River Cruise (admission included)! This is the only river boat trip in all of Hawaii! Sail up this historic, sacred river takes for about 40 minutes (one way) on a long, flat-bottom boat. ***Departure Time and Location: *Lihue 7:30am *Wailua 7:15am *Poipu 8:15am *Princeville 6:30am *Returns at approximately 5:00pm - 6:15pm

Tour guests staying at the Waikiki Beachcomber will be dropped off at the Ross Dress For Less store on Seaside Avenue. Tour guests staying at the Outrigger Waikiki will be dropped off at the Hyatt Regency on Kalakaua Avenue. *Due to a fallen tree, Rainbow Falls cannot be visited till November 7, 2019. Additional time will be spent at other tour stops.
