Question 1

What is the best time of year to visit Nanjing?

Accepted Answer

The best time to visit Nanjing is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when temperatures are mild and rainfall is moderate. Cherry blossoms at Xuanwu Lake peak in March, while autumn foliage at Mochou Lake and Purple Mountain draws fewer crowds than spring. Avoid Golden Week (October 1–7) and Labor Day (May 1–3) for lower hotel rates and shorter lines.

Question 2

Is Nanjing more expensive than Shanghai?

Accepted Answer

No, Nanjing is generally less expensive than Shanghai. While both are major Chinese cities, Shanghai is one of the most international and costly cities in China, especially for accommodation, dining in upscale restaurants, and shopping.
