Best Guanajuato Tours & Trips

Guanajuato enchants visitors with its cobblestone alleys, colorful colonial buildings, and rich silver mining heritage. The city - a UNESCO World Heritage site - unfolds along steep hillsides, linked by winding tunnels and stairways beneath its streets. Explore the iconic Callejón del Beso, where balconies nearly touch, or catch a performance at the radiant Teatro Juárez. The Alhóndiga de Granaditas, a former granary turned museum, tells tales of Mexico’s independence, while the Mummy Museum offers an eerie yet fascinating glimpse into local history. Art thrives here, too, inspired by muralist Diego Rivera, who was born in the city. Ride the funicular to the Christ of the Pioneers statue for sweeping views, especially magical at sunset. Vibrant festivals like the Cervantino Festival transform plazas into lively stages, celebrating music, theater, and culture from around the world. Guanajuato’s blend of history, art, and charm makes it a soulful destination in Mexico’s highlands.

Very good value for a 9-day tour covering 4 states. The included entrance fees to Teotihuacan and Monte Alban saved us at least $50 compared to doing it independently. The guide spoke excellent English and was funny. The only suggestion: add a quick stop at a local chocolate shop in Oaxaca – it's famous for a reason.
