Best Columbia Icefield Tours & Trips

This was our first organized tour in Canada, and the structure made the trip easy to follow. I especially enjoyed the Columbia Icefield section, and Moraine Lake also lived up to the photographs. We checked the optional activities before departure, which helped us decide how to use each stop. My father walks more slowly, and he appreciated knowing the meeting times in advance. One stop felt a little short, though the overall route was still worth it. I would book a similar route again, especially with family or friends.

We had limited vacation time, so the organized route helped us see a lot without constant planning. Our favorite photographs came from Jasper National Park, although the drive through the Rockies may have been the bigger surprise. There are substantial driving stretches, but regular scenery changes kept the journey interesting. We compared notes with other travelers at dinner and ended up sharing several favorite moments. We finished tired in the best way and very glad we chose this route.

This was my first visit to this part of Canada, and the route gave me a useful overview. Seeing Moraine Lake lived up to expectations, and I was equally glad the itinerary included Lake Louise. I didn't expect much from the icefield stop, but riding the snowmobile on actual glacier ruins was incredible. Bow Lake is also severely underrated – we stopped briefly but I could've stayed an hour. The Banff Gondola is worth the ticket just for the 360 shot of the town and mountains.
