Van Expedition to Arctic Circle

Leave the city of Fairbanks behind and travel one of the “loneliest roads in the world”- the Dalton Highway, featured in the series Ice Road Truckers.

Along the way, see Alaska’s famous oil pipeline, the mighty Yukon River, and the amazing storybook scenery as you journey towards the Arctic Circle. Keep your eyes peeled for an Arctic Fox! Our final destination is the Arctic Circle Sign. It shows you have crossed the Arctic Circle in ceremonial fashion and will receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. Enjoy stunning views of interior Alaska and witness firsthand the remarkable wilderness blanketed in snow.

Our tour gives you more time to experience the expansive landscapes and fascinating cultures unique to Alaska’s Arctic in the short-day time of Winter.

Additionally, you can upgrade the Arctic Circle Fly-Drive, taking a flight which provides an aerial view of the vast Alaska wilderness. Fly to Coldfoot Camp and ride in the personalized comfort of our tour van ground tour south back to Fairbanks.

12:30pm: Reach the rugged Dalton Highway (stop and take photo about 15 mins)

Fly Drive to Arctic Circle (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday departures)

Fly from Fairbanks to Coldfoot, north of the Arctic Circle in the Brooks Mountain Range. The flight provides an aerial view of the vast Alaska wilderness.

Upon landing, send a postcard from the northernmost Post Office of United States or walk around this camp in the north of the Arctic Circle to learn how it serves the Alaska truck drivers. Then you will ride the personalized comfort of our tour van ground tour south from Coldfoot on the Dalton Highway, made famous by the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. You will cross the Arctic Circle in ceremonious fashion and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. During the trip, you witness firsthand the remarkable wilderness, which is Alaska's Arctic.

Stop along the shores of the mighty Yukon River. Marvel at the majestic beauty of the northland's most famous waterway and learn of the river's storied past.

Schedule:
12:00pm: Confirm with your guide for the hotel shuttle service time to the meeting point :3820 University Ave S, Fairbanks, AK 99709, Check-in your flight with your photo ID
1:00pm: Depart (1 hour and 10 minutes flying)
2:30pm: Go to Coldfoot Camp (by van) to have a rest
3:45pm: Go south tour from Coldfoot to Fairbanks (by tour vehicle)
5:30pm: Stop at Arctic Circle Sign for photos about 15 minutes
8:00pm： Stop: Yukon River
11:00pm: Arrive at Arctic Circle Trading Post for a rest or book optional northern light viewing tour and back to hotel arround 3:30am - 4:30am.
1:00am - 2:00am back to city hotel.

Due to the length of this drive $20.00/person and above is the suggested tip per guest. We appreciate your generosity if you are satisfied with your trip.

Please note that if you choose to upgrade to Fly Drive to Arctic Circle, we are not able to switch to orginal itinerary for you, when the vechile cannot fly due to bad weather. You can choose to reschedule or refund the upgrade fee.

Cancellation/Amendment Policy:
If you would like to make any change for your reservation, please inform us 17 days prior to departure after confirmation, otherwise we will charge additional fees including the $70.00 amendment fee.
* Cancel 32 days or more prior to departure date, 10% penalty fee;
* Cancel 17-31 days prior to departure date, 25% penalty fee;
* Cancel 9-16 days prior to departure date, 50% penalty fee;
* Cancel 0-8 days prior to departure date, 100% penalty fee;
* No-show on tour, 100% penalty fee.
If you have not successfully passed the customs of the United States for your personal reasons, there will not refund.
According to Alaska law and for fire safety, an extra bed may not be added in the room.
You must book at least 10 days prior to the departure of the tour.
This tour requires an American VISA. We suggest you follow the EVUS handbook to apply for a visa and only upon obtaining it book a tour.
If you would like to add-on any of our optional activities, such as dogsledding or Fairbanks City Tour, we STRONGLY recommend that you book them at the same time as you book this basic tour. There are limited spots available for these tours.
We suggest that you wait to buy your plane tickets until your tour booking has been confirmed.
After your booking has been confirmed and you’ve purchased your ticket, please inform us of your flight information as early as possible so that we know when you will arrive and where to pick you up. If you fail to inform us of your arrival in time for our shuttle, at an early date we will not be responsible if we cannot pick you up. (Please note that we have one pick-up time per day.)
On the day of the tour, please arrive in the lobby 10 minutes before your pick-up time. If you are not there when the driver arrives to pick you up, they will wait for only 5 minutes and then depart. We will not refund money if you are not on time for your pick-up and miss the activity.
The Aurora Borealis are a natural phenomenon. There is no way for us to guarantee that you will see the Aurora. We do our best to provide premier locations for viewing, should the Aurora come out. Please check weather and Aurora reports before booking your tour with us. If the Aurora do not appear, your money will not be refunded.
Once the aurora is out, please do not use strong light sources such as flash, headlamp and flashlight, so as not to affect other people's auroras observation and photography.
Please bring appropriate clothing to view the aurora outside; and please watch your steps when you are outside.
Please DO NOT enter accommodation area without the invitation.
Please help the driver to keep vehicles clean, take your personal trash after you leave.
NO smoking in vehicles or inside facilities.
The winter weather in Fairbanks is changeable, we may temporarily cancel or change the tour due to extremely weather conditions.
The driver has right to change the speed depending on the real road condition, which may be earlier or later than the schedule.
Please note that pick-ups for optional activities are at various hotels. Your exact pick-up time will be determined by our office and you will be notified 1-2 days before your tour. Make sure to leave contact information.
The winter weather in Alaska is very changeable and road conditions can be affected. For the purposes of safety, we may need to change the timing of your tour but will avoid cancellation. If we do need to cancel any portion of your trip due to weather conditions, we will refund the amount of the activity.

Depending on your arrival time, your hotel room may not be available until the afternoon. Most hotels allow check-in between 1:00pm-3:00pm, however some charge a fee for early check-in. Please check at the hotel desk to see if you may store your luggage at the hotel if you wish to explore the city on your own before check-in.
