Best Woolworth Building Day Trips & Things to Do

Designed by famous architect Cass Gilbert, the Woolworth Building was the tallest building in the world from its completion date of 1913 to 1930. The 792-foot tall, 60-story skyscraper in Lower Manhattan was commissioned by Frank Woolworth to serve as his company's headquarters as well as contain offices for other businesses. When the Woolworth Building opened, then-United States President Woodrow Wilson pressed a button from his residence in Washington, D.C. to switch the lights on in the now U.S. National Historic Landmark.
