Absolutely Amazing Experience!

I can’t recommend this tour enough! Everything about it was incredible—from the easy booking process to the seamless customer service (they were so quick to respond to my last-minute questions!). The 7-day loop around England and Scotland covered so many iconic places, like Windsor Castle, Edinburgh, and the breathtaking Lake District. Each stop was well planned, and we had just enough time to really take it all in.

Fast paced tour

A lot of places were visited during this one day tour. However, the pacing was very fast to avoid the crowd and be on time for the next destination. We had a very informative and funny guide who was a great story teller with a voice that reminds me of Julie Andrews

FAQs about Windsor Castle Tours

Is Windsor Castle open to visitors year-round, and are there any seasonal closures?

Windsor Castle is open to visitors most of the year, but parts may close for state functions or religious events. St George's Chapel and the State Apartments occasionally have limited access. Check the Royal Collection Trust website 48 hours in advance for updates, especially around Easter, Christmas, and royal holidays.

How do I get from London to Windsor Castle using public transportation?

Take a South Western Railway train from London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Central or Windsor & Eton Riverside stations. The journey takes 30-50 minutes. From either station, follow signs to the castle - it's a 10-minute walk. Windsor & Eton Central is closer to the main entrance.

Is there a combined ticket for Windsor Castle and nearby attractions?

Yes, the Windsor Castle + St George's Chapel ticket includes both sites. For added value, purchase the "Windsor Pass" which grants access to Windsor Castle, St George's Chapel, and nearby attractions like Windsor Great Park and the Eton College tour, offering savings up to 30%.

What should I know about security screening when visiting Windsor Castle?

All visitors undergo airport-style security screening at Windsor Castle. Prohibited items include large bags over 55 x 35 x 20 cm, backpacks, sharp objects, and tripods. Arrive 15 minutes early to avoid delays. Lockers are available nearby for luggage storage at limited capacity.
