Formerly called Mann's Chinese Theatre and Grauman's Chinese Theatre, this historic theater located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a tourist favorite. TCL Chinese Theatre was constructed in 1926 and opened a year later to premiere Cecil B. Demille's "The King of Kings." It has hosted numerous movie premieres and events throughout the years including the Academy Awards. The handprints, footprints and signatures of Hollywood stars including Joan Crawford, Judy Garland, Shirley Temple, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Gary Cooper, John Wayne, Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, Sidney Poitier, Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks are a popular attraction on the theater's concrete walkway.
