The Santa Monica Museum of Art is an independent art museum located in Santa Monica, California. The museum exhibits local, national and international artists is the only non-collecting museum in Southern California. The museum was founded in 1984 by artist Abbey Sher,and continues to display ground-breaking art exhibitions and public programs promoting art and culture. The museum consists of the Main Gallery and two project rooms, and solely displays only art exhibitions.
