Towering above Almocabar gate, the Iglesia del Espiritu Santo or Ronda Cathedral looks fortified and rather plain from the outside, apart from its bell tower. This is at least partially due to the fact that it began construction in 1485, a year after the reconquering of Ronda. On the inside it is short on features but has some Baroque embellishments and artwork. The cathedral still holds Sunday mass and leads the Semana Santa procession on Easter.
