Plaza Catalunya, translated in English to mean Catalonia Square, is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, theaters and stores. Notable sculptures are La Deessa, Monument a Francesc Macià and Pastor de Pau. The square which is frequented by pigeons began being developed in the early 19th Century.
