Best Piraeus Tours & Trips

This port city located in the greater Athens area is mostly known as a departure point for the Greek islands as ferries from here go to almost all of the numerous inhabited islands in Greece. Piraeus has been the port of Athens for many centuries and today is the biggest port in the Mediterranean. Piraeus is rather congested and blends in with the urban sprawl of Athens and is low on attractions. However, the Piraeus Archaeological Museum is worth a visit for its amazing statue of Apollo, the oldest hollow bronze statue yet found that dates from about 520 BC.

8-Day Highlights of Greece Tour from Athens with Airport Transfers: Delphi, Meteora and Santorini | Temple of Olympian Zeus | Acropolis Museum

The trip that checked all my boxes

I’ve done quite a few group tours in Europe, but this one stood out for how balanced it was. Ancient history in Athens and Delphi, spiritual awe in Meteora, and pure island bliss in Santorini. The guides knew their stuff but also kept things light and fun, which I appreciated. Accommodation was exactly as promised, nothing fancy but comfortable. Transport was efficient, and I felt well taken care of the entire time. The best part for me was sitting on a terrace in Santorini after a week of sightseeing — that view alone was worth the whole trip. Would 100% recommend this tour to first-time visitors to Greece.
