Piccadilly Circus was originally built in 1819 to connect Regent Street with Piccadilly and today lies at the intersection of five main roads: Regent Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, Piccadilly Street, Covent Street and Haymarket. It is a popular meeting place and tourist attraction that is surrounded by the London Pavilion, Criterion Restaurant and Criterion Theatre.
