Best Pena National Palace Tours & Trips

A creative project of King Ferdinand II, Pena National Palace was once a summer residence for the royal family. Built from 1842–1854, the UNESCO World Heritage Site sits atop a hill in São Pedro de Penaferrim in Sintra. It is a stunning example of 19th century romanticism, and incorporates Manueline and Moorish influences in its architecture. The palace is surrounded by a forest and gardens that include 500 different species of trees.

5-Day Best of Lisbon Tour from Lisbon with Airport Transfers: Sintra, Nazaré, Fátima and Évora

Amazing Portugal highlights in just 5 days

If you want to see the best of Portugal in under a week, this tour nails it. Lisbon is such a vibrant city, and having a guide explain the history behind Praça do Comércio and the viewpoints really made it come alive. The full-day trip to Sintra, Nazaré, and Fátima was jam-packed but unforgettable—I especially loved the Sanctuary at Fátima, such a peaceful experience. The Évora excursion was another highlight, with its Roman ruins and, of course, the wine tasting (the reds from Alentejo are fantastic). Everything was well organized, the guide was professional, and the transfers saved us so much hassle. Hotels were not luxury, but clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend to anyone short on time but eager to see Portugal.
