Best Old Jail Vacation Packages

Built in 1891 to house St. Augustine's worst criminals, this historic jail house is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Today it operates as a museum, allowing visitors to see historic weaponry used and photographs taken during its 60-plus years of operation. Designed to look like a Victorian home to blend in with the surrounding buildings, the jail's dark and foreboding interior offers a stark contrast where numerous prisoners lived out their last days. Regular tours are given by day, and by night, ghost tours take adventurous visitors through the reportedly haunted building.
