Monteverde, Costa Rica is a small community in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, about a four hour drive from the Central Valley. As one of Costa Rica's major ecotourism destinations, the area is host to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve and numerous other reserves.
