Best Kilbeggan Tours & Trips

The Irish town's original name Cill Bheagain means "The Church of Becan" in Irish as it was where St Becan, one of Ireland's "Twelve Apostles" started a monastery in the 6th Century. Kilbeggan is known for whiskey because it is the site of the Kilbeggan Distillery that originated in 1757. The town is situated on the River Brosna and surrounded by the rolling ridges called Esker Riada. Points of interest include Kilbeggan Distillery, Mercy Convent and the nearby Kilbeggan Racecourse.
