The sunny California coastal city nicknamed "Surf City" and the "Surfing Capital of the World" has 9.5 miles of beaches and ocean swells year-round. Surfing is huge in Huntington Beach, which is mentioned in the Beach Boys hit "Surfin' Safari" and the Surfaris' song "Surfer Joe," is home to the International Surfing Museum and hosts numerous surfing events. The beach city was established in 1909 and named after its developer Henry Huntington. More than 11 million people visit Huntington Beach every year.
