The Edison and Ford Winter Estates are former winter homes of inventor Thomas Alva Edison and industrialist Henry Ford. The estates consists of a historical museum and botanical gardens located on the adjacent sides of the winter homes. The estates were first built in 1885 and bought by Thomas Edison; Henry Ford bought the adjoining estate in 1916. Guests visiting the estates can expect more than 20 acres of gardens and historical buildings. The estates have been opened to public daily since 1947 and are the most visited homes in America
