Best Durango Tours & Trips

This city in southwest Colorado is near five major ski resorts and just 35 miles east of Mesa Verde National Park. Established in 1881 to serve the mining community, Durango has remained a vital stop along the rail line. Take a walk down Main Avenue to see the city's two oldest hotels, then ride the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to an old mining town. In summer, the Animas River Valley offers visitors a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, whitewater rafting and canoeing. Annual events include the Music in the Mountains Festival and Snowdown Festival.
