The historic center of Amsterdam, expansive Dam Square is home to the neoclassical Royal Palace, Gothic Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), the National Monument, and, most uniquely, a Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. A major transportation hub, the square is just south of the Centraal Station and is an important hub for city's trams.
