Spain’s Wild Coast is defined by tranquil villages, rugged mountains, rocky coves and idyllic Mediterranean beaches. The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes, a few miles northeast of Barcelona, to the French border. Must-see sites along the way include Port Lligat, a whitewashed seaside village that was home to Salvador Dali, whose house now serves as the Dali Museum-House; the walled-in Old Town of Tossa de Mar, the only example of a fortified medieval town still standing on the Catalan coast; and the Ruins of Empuries, which was founded in 575 BC by Greek colonists and later occupied by the Romans.
