Best Commerce Square Day Trips & Things to Do

Look out to sea from this waterfront square, also known as the palace’s square. Until 1755 when the Great Earthquake destroyed it, the Royal Palace stood here. Now the square offers a triumphal arch, a 14-meter statue of King Jose I and several outdoor cafes. Lisbon’s main tourism office is also located here along with the Lisboa Story Centre: an interactive museum of Lisbon’s history. It all makes Commerce Square a great starting point for visitors.
