The 1,127-foot high Chicago skyscraper is the fourth tallest building in the city and is named for its tenant John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. John Hancock Tower's 94th Floor has an Observatory with a SkyWalk offering a multimedia tour narrated by Chicago native David Schwimmer and ice skating rink while its 44th Floor Sky Lobby has a swimming pool. The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and opened in 1970. Building owners claim the SkyWalk is the highest open air viewing platform in the Midwest United States.
