Cuba’s third largest city, Camaguey is located in the center of the island, and is known for its narrow, twisting streets and alleys, which some say were built to confound marauding pirates. Camaguey is also home to cobblestone plazas, historic statues, leafy parks, and fascinating museums, such as Ignacio Agramonte Museum, which contains exhibits on history and decorative arts. Clay pots used to collect rainwater line the streets. Known as tinajón, they are the symbol of Camaguey.
