The British Columbia Parliament Buildings are located in the city of Victoria of British Columbia, Canada. The parliament building is home to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia; the building was constructed in 1893 and later completed in 1897. The parliament building was designed by then 25-year old Francis Rattenbury, who was discovered by entering a contest that was created to find the right designer for the project. The parliament building began operating in 1898 and continues to be used today by not only the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, but also the British Columbia Youth Parliament and the British Columbia Universities' Model Parliament.
