More than 20,000 aquatic animals including sharks, rays, eels, jellies, rock fish, flat fish, sea stars and otters reside at this 50,000-square foot facility located at Fisherman's Wharf on Pier 39. The site established in 1996 attracts more than 600,000 visitors per year and contains more than a million gallons of filtered water from San Francisco Bay. It is divided into the three exhibit areas of Discover the Bay, Under the Bay and Touch the Bay, and has two massive tunnel tanks.
