Itinerary
The breathtaking Sorrento Coast is a must see on any trip to Italy. Spend a night in Sorrento for a leisurely tour of the most iconic sights!
Day 1
Begin your journey on the Highway of the Sun, passing through the famous Roman countryside, Castelli Romani. The first stop is in Naples. This Mediterranean city is famous for its rich history, art, culture and gastronomy. You'll drive up the Vomero hill for a view over the town which overlooks the bay of Naples and extends from the Sorrento peninsula to volcanic area of Phlegrean fields. The skyline is dominated by the majestic and still active volcano Vesuvius. This is the perfect spot to take photos of this stunning landmark.
Driving down towards the port of Mergellina, travel south towards Mount Vesuvius and the town of Pompeii. After a traditional Italian lunch, make your way to the UNESCO listed archaeological site of Pompeii. Spend the afternoon exploring this once thriving frozen in time by layers of volcanic ash.
Leaving Pompeii, head down the Costa Sorrentina to Sorrento. Check into your hotel and get ready for dinner for the formal dinner. After dinner, explore the city or relax in your hotel room.
Day 2 (High Season only - from April to October)
After breakfast, head to the famous Island of Capri. Weather permitting, travel to the popular Blue Grotto by boat. See the blue reflection caused by the sunlight passing into the underwater cavity and shining through the seawater. If the Blue Grotto is not accessible due to tidal conditions, you will be taken by boat to the Faraglioni Rocks. If weather conditions do not allow the excursion by boat, you will tour the island.
Back to Capri take advantage of some free time.
Between November till March, there is no tour to Capri and you'll be free to explore Sorrento at your leisure.
Leave Capri in the afternoon and be back in Rome at around 9:00 PM.

- During peak season (August and September) accommodation may be located outside Sorrento.
- During peak season, visiting the Blue Grotto in Capri may involve long lines and limited capacity.
(If access is not possible, or the weather conditions do not allow it, our guides will suggest alternative attractions to ensure a satisfying and memorable tour (e.g. Faraglioni rocks).)
• To the French and German speakers:
A minimum of 10 participants is required to confirm this tour in your language. If this minimum is not met, the tour will be conducted in English. Kindly contact our reservations team to confirm the language option for your tour within 24 hours before departure.
• Maximum one piece of luggage per person.
• From Nov 1st to Mar 31st, the excursion to Capri is not included (it may be purchased as an optional tour, weather permitting).
