Departing Denver, the full scope of the Rockies lies before you as you begin the ascent toward adventure. Drive over Berthoud Pass, reaching the summit of the Continental Divide and sitting at 11,314 feet above sea level for gorgeous mountain views. Then visit Winter Park, a classically cozy Colorado ski town tucked against the western slope of the Divide, which is home to one of the state’s most popular ski resorts. Enjoy the town, exploring quaint shops and breathing in the pine-scented air while visiting the scenic town of Grand Lake for lunch. Somehow food just tastes better in the fresh mountain air as you dine at at a fabulous little lakeside café nestled along the actual Grand Lake. Our final and most scenic destination is Rocky Mountain National Park. Full of wildlife, breathtaking views and more photo opportunities than your camera will know what to do with, this park is a feast for the senses and a nature-lover’s dream. On Trail Ridge Road, you may find yourself higher than you’ve ever been before at 12,183 feet above sea level!
