Punta Tombo Penguin Colony Tour From Puerto Madryn

Get close to Patagonia’s incredible wildlife on this full-day tour of the famous Punta Tombo Penguin Colony from Puerto Madryn. Stand in awe before South America’s largest colony of Magellan's penguins and end your day with a visit to the unique Welsh settlement of Gaiman. During this excursion, you will visit the most important penguin colony in Latin America. We'll pick you right up from your hotel and depart on our exciting journey in the morning. Our first stop will be in Puerto Rawson's Union Beach at about 9:00am. Here we will discover the unique wildlife of this stunning region. We will have free time for lunch at the Rawson's Port, famous for their fish and seafood. Next, we'll head to our main destination, Punta Tombo, home to a Magellanic penguin habitat, where you will stay for an hour and a half to see these beautiful animals. There will be some time to observe how the different animals cohabit on the coast, such as gulls, skuas, giant petrels, cormorants, oystercatchers and duck steams. Given the extent of the area, specific steppe species, such as guanacos, choiques, rabbits and foxes can be seen. We'll will also visit the town of Gaiman, to admire its culture, some chapels of a very particular architecture and taste their local tea. From there, you will be taken back to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
