Van Expedition to Arctic Circle
Leave the city of Fairbanks behind and travel one of the “loneliest roads in the world”- the Dalton Highway, featured in the series Ice Road Truckers.
Along the way, see Alaska’s famous oil pipeline, the mighty Yukon River, and the amazing storybook scenery as you journey towards the Arctic Circle. Keep your eyes peeled for an Arctic Fox! Our final destination is the Arctic Circle Sign. It shows you have crossed the Arctic Circle in ceremonial fashion and will receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. Enjoy stunning views of interior Alaska and witness firsthand the remarkable wilderness blanketed in snow.
Our tour gives you more time to experience the expansive landscapes and fascinating cultures unique to Alaska’s Arctic in the short-day time of Winter.
Additionally, you can upgrade the Arctic Circle Fly-Drive, taking a flight which provides an aerial view of the vast Alaska wilderness. Fly to Coldfoot Camp and ride in the personalized comfort of our tour van ground tour south back to Fairbanks.
Schedule:
Go trip
10:00am: Depart from Fairbanks
Stop 1: Alaska Pipeline viewing site (no less than 15 mins)
Stop 2: Add gas and use the restroom
12:30pm: Reach the rugged Dalton Highway (stop and take photo about 15 mins)
2:20pm: Yukon River Camp (Enjoy a quick hot meal)
4:50pm: Arctic Circle
Return trip
Stop: Yukon River
2:00am back to Fairbanks.
If you would not like to add any activities, will arrive your Fairbanks accommodation at 5:00am.

1. Be aware that this tour is a total of 400 miles in this 13-hour van expedition, so feel free to bring your snacks and beverages;
2. Restroom with fresh water only at: Hilltop Gas Station, Yukon River Camp, Borealis Basecamp;
3. This tour is not covered by mobile signal;
4. Provide upgrade to Arctic Circle Fly-Drive (extra charge).

Fly Drive to Arctic Circle (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday departures)

Fly from Fairbanks to Coldfoot, north of the Arctic Circle in the Brooks Mountain Range. The flight provides an aerial view of the vast Alaska wilderness.
Upon landing, send a postcard from the northernmost Post Office of United States or walk around this camp in the north of the Arctic Circle to learn how it serves the Alaska truck drivers. Then you will ride the personalized comfort of our tour van ground tour south from Coldfoot on the Dalton Highway, made famous by the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. You will cross the Arctic Circle in ceremonious fashion and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. During the trip, you witness firsthand the remarkable wilderness, which is Alaska's Arctic.
Stop along the shores of the mighty Yukon River. Marvel at the majestic beauty of the northland's most famous waterway and learn of the river's storied past.
Schedule:
12:00pm: Confirm with your guide for the hotel shuttle service time to the meeting point :3820 University Ave S, Fairbanks, AK 99709, Check-in your flight with your photo ID
1:00pm: Depart (1 hour and 10 minutes flying)
2:30pm: Go to Coldfoot Camp (by van) to have a rest
3:45pm: Go south tour from Coldfoot to Fairbanks (by tour vehicle)
5:30pm: Stop at Arctic Circle Sign for photos about 15 minutes
8:00pm: Stop: Yukon River
11:00pm: Arrive at Arctic Circle Trading Post for a rest or book optional northern light viewing tour and back to hotel arround 3:30am - 4:30am.
1:00am - 2:00am back to city hotel.

Please note that if you choose to upgrade to Fly Drive to Arctic Circle, we are not able to switch to orginal itinerary for you, when the vechile cannot fly due to bad weather. You can choose to reschedule or refund the upgrade fee.
