This magnificent cobblestone square surrounded by trees, and adjacent to the revered Basilica of Saint Servatius, is lined with outdoor cafes and has been the preferred gathering place of Maastricht since medieval times. Vrijthof Square, the largest and best-known in Maastricht, also consists of a plethora of pubs, restaurants and museums.
