This quintessential yet multicultural Catalan town on the banks of the Meder River is the capital of the region of Osona in the province of Barcelona. Vic’s venerated old quarter is chock-full of Roman remnants and exquisite restaurants, and is dominated by a Neoclassical cathedral. Vic is a perfect day trip from Barcelona, if for no other reason than to sample its famous sausages.
